Location: Remote USA. This role can be performed anywhere from the United States.

The Role

This role will report to the VP of eCommerce and will manage the UX team to support best-in-class experiences with GoPro properties.  You will know how to develop a long-term design strategy in a mid-sized organization and how to create the culture to support it.  You understand the value of research and utilizing best practices to design right-sized solutions that improve customer engagement and conversion.  You have demonstrable experience designing and delivering experiences that build strong relationships with customers to earn trust and deliver results, especially with subscription products. Your mission will be accomplished by working closely with partners on creative, business, and technical teams to manage and coordinate the delivery of excellent Direct to Consumer experiences that are in support of our long-term goal of growing eCommerce at GoPro.

 

What You Will Do

  • Develop, deliver, and be accountable for the UX vision and roadmap
  • Create and support a design culture that aligns with the GoPro brand mission, vision, and values
  • Own the intake, prioritization, and implementation of UX design work
  • Represent and present the work of the UX teams in meetings with senior leadership, including the CEO
  • Manage, mentor, and motivate a team of 3+ UX designers (combination of FTE and Contract employees)
  • Measure performance and quality of UX design post launch
  • Develop and nurture beneficial and trusting relationships with cross functional partners on the Creative, eCommerce, Engineering, and Product teams
  • Study and share industry trends, as well as new and competitive solutions in the marketplace
  • Act as a role model in fostering and cultivating GoPro values and principles
  • Perform other duties as required/assigned by manager

 

Skills We’re Excited About

  • 10+ years of combined hands-on experience through practice and management of User Experience design in the e-commerce context
  • Strong transactional ecommerce experience with a proven record for increasing conversion and engagement on website properties
  • Solid understanding and practices of design principles, interaction design, and visual design with proven success in building consumer products
  • Experience translating consumer brands into innovative and engaging digital properties
  • Excellent collaboration and relationship management
  • Expert-level knowledge of current trends, technology, communications, experience, art and other design influences
  • Experience with implementing data-driven optimized creative, and A|B multi-variate testing
  • Deep knowledge of associated practices, including UX writing, user research, motion, UX, and accessibility standards
  • Experience with modern design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe CC, etc.)
  • Experience with modern research tools (Google Analytics, Hotjar, Crazy Egg, etc.)
  • Experience with design-thinking and collaboration tools (Mural, Miro, etc.)
  • Experience with daily productivity tools (Wrike, Trello, Monday, etc.)
  • Excellent culture and team building skills
  • Excellent oral, written, verbal and presentation skills that promote transparency and trust
  • Strong ability to deal with ambiguity and be exceptionally adaptable and flexible

The pay range for this role is between $194,650 – $290,375. Actual pay within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including your residence location and prior work experience. Equity, benefits, and a discretionary bonus may be additional forms of compensation for this role and are not included in the provided pay range.
