Toast is scaling rapidly and with that growth comes an exciting new opportunity to join the management team for our growing Commerce organization in Dublin.
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Banking & Billing team and to play a critical role in shaping the future of banking and billing services in the Toast platform. You will be responsible for nurturing and growing the skills of your teams over time and for finding creative ways to help your teams become more efficient.
The ideal candidate will have the ability and drive to lead and make an impact, not only on their own but by enabling those around them to succeed.
They will also be interested in technical work and have enough experience and judgment to ensure that engineers are moving in the right direction. They will be capable of connecting their teams’ work to Toast’s broader mission.
On any given day, you might be reviewing design documents and PRs, coordinating discussions between teams, collaborating on roadmaps with architectural and product stakeholders, and conducting 1:1s with team members. This is a high visibility role with an opportunity to make a real impact at a fast-paced and dynamic organization with phenomenal growth.
The Toast platform processes tens of millions of requests per day, and this number grows constantly as we add new restaurants. The services we develop on this team are essential for Toast’s operation and their resilience and reliability are crucial from a business and user perspective.

About this roll* (Responsibilities)
* Drive delivery of business outcomes across multiple teams, including planning and execution
* Collaborate closely with PM and UX to get actionable, valuable work defined for the team
* Keep product quality high in collaboration with QA
* Ensure end-to-end delivery of software, including team ownership of monitoring and
* Production issue remediation
* Coach individuals in professional and technical development
Do you have the right ingredients? (Experience)
* Has some experience in leading and mentoring a successful team for both delivery and resource management.
* Experience writing, delivering, and operating software in a SaaS environment as a senior software engineer
* A strong sense of empathy for customers, partners and teammates
* A desire to build a diverse team that wins together and prioritizes customer and partner success
