HW Design Engineer

Job Description / Skills Required

Skills: • Drive complete hardware life cycle including Requirement gathering, Components selection, Design Analysis, Schematic entry, Layout guidelines & Review, BOM, Sourcing, Board Bring-up, Functional Testing and Electrical Validation.
• Coordinate directly with contract manufacturers to develop printed circuit board
fabrication and assembly.
• Create test plans, test cases and test benches for carrying out Functional Validation.
• Work closely with FW/SW teams during Bringup; incorporate diagnostics for HW failure detection.
• Devise and implement plans to improve system efficiency & reduce of cost & form-factor.
• Rapidly Prototype new solutions.
• Maintain inventory. Debug & restore full operationality of boards.
• Support Customer Engineering with integrating developed solutions into customer platforms.

The exact level such Staff, Principal, etc., will be determined based on candidate’s knowledge and experience

Experience: • 5+ years of experience in complete development cycle of Mixed signal Hardware Board Design.
• Experience in power Supply – DC-DC design and validation.
• Expertise in low speed interface validation such as with I2C, UART, SPI etc.
• Experience in testing using high-end oscilloscope, IP DC power supplies, E-loads, Thermal chambers etc.
• Good knowledge in testing with Passive, Active and Current probes.
• Design Tools: One or more of OrCAD, Allegro, Altium, Circuit Studio.
• Self-starter, able to ramp-up with minimal support.
• Good communication and inter-personal skills.

Electro Mechanical Systems Engineer

Skills: • Collaborate with MEMS design lead on design of ceramic based MEMS product.
• Develop, validate and enhance electro-mechanical models of the current and future Designs.
• Work hand-in-hand with Systems & FW leads to simulate and develop optimized drive system & algorithms.
• Work with design and systems leads to develop the appropriate technology roadmap for the architectures.
• Work with manufacturing teams to accommodate the manufacturing tolerances to improve yield and quality.
• Support Customer Engineering team to help integrate design into customer platforms.

Experience: • BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
• Strong experience in MEMs design and modeling, product design and characterization.
• Knowledge of PZT and other piezo based materials is a plus.
• Awareness of System design for driving MEMS devices is a plus.
• Self-starter, able to ramp-up with minimal support.
• Good communication and inter-personal skills.

Systems Lead Expert Engineer

Skills: • Collaborate with business development and customer engineering teams to define product requirements.
• Author hardware design specification and algorithms to match product requirements.
• Architect, simulate and develop HW design including MCUs, sensors, power, etc. matching the specification.
• Work closely with FW team to bring-up/validate design & activate various features and knobs in the system.
• Work hand-in-hand with Mechanical Engineering Lead in scoping nextGen development.
• Analyze, understand and problem-solve sightings and constraints in the Drive System implementation. Continuously improve the design.
• Contribute to automation of manufacturing process to improve throughput and quality.
• Support Customer Engineering team to help integrate design into customer platforms.

Experience: • BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering.
• Deep experience in dc-dc power architectures. Knowledge of resonant power design is a plus.
• Good awareness of standard embedded interfaces such as I2C, SPI, USB, Ethernet, etc.
• System design for driving high-voltage MEMS devices is a plus.
• Versatile in system bring-up and Electrical debug tools.
• Self-starter, able to ramp-up with minimal support.
• Good communication and inter-personal skills.
