Location: In Office (San Mateo, CA). This role requires in office work 4-5 days/week. 

The Role

GoPro is seeking a top tier candidate for the Image Quality Tuning Technician role. This position will help execute testing and data collection that is required to study, correlate, and improve the image quality of GoPro's camera product line. Specifically, the Image Quality Tuning Technician’s responsibilities include performing lab-specific testing, data collection, lab organization and equipment maintenance, and executing camera tests using subjective and objective methods for evaluating camera image quality.

 

What You Will Do

  • Perform data collection and test execution to streamline image signal processor (ISP) tuning
  • Correlate objective and subjective image data to accelerate feedback
  • Interface with ISP Tuning and Test Engineers to define and execute test methodologies
  • Ensure pristine lab environment and equipment through regular calibrations and maintenance
  • Execute manual and automated testing using specialized equipment

 

Skills We’re Excited About

  • Basic knowledge of video and photography practices, including camera controls and operation
  • Knowledge and experience in subjective and objective image quality evaluation
  • Experience using automated scheduling software, such as Jenkins
  • Ability to work well alone and within groups with strong interpersonal communication skills

 

Bonus Points For

  • Expertise in Matlab and/or Python Scripting languages
  • 1-2 years of industry experience working with firmware environments, using version control tools such as GitHub
  • Enthusiastic about outdoor activities such as mountain biking, drone flight, etc

The pay range for this role is between $88,825 – $120,175. Actual pay within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including your residence location and prior work experience. Equity, benefits, and a discretionary bonus may be additional forms of compensation for this role and are not included in the provided pay range.
