Job Description / Skills Required

Job Purpose: 

Lead operational finance areas, partner the business, provide sound recommendations for continuous improvement of the company's finance functions and guide junior team members.

Daily task/duties/responsibilities:

  • Managing customer/ partner related transactions from invoices to billings holistically. Eg. Issuing invoices, raising payments, coordinate approvals.

  • Ensure smooth period end close processes.

  • Investigate irregularities and provide recommendations/ solutions.

  • Produce accurate management reports to support decision making.

  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Business partner other teams to meet company focused goals.

  • Shared finance mailbox maintenance.

  • Accountable for master data management to ensure reliability.

  • Implement and ensure strong quality assurance standards.

  • Prepare effective workflow and process documentation.

  • Support, assist and provide guidance to junior colleagues.

  • Support and participate in audits and ad hoc projects within the group.

  • Liaise with external service providers, auditors and tax advisors. 

  • Optimize the operational process between the departments for continuous process improvement.

  • Aptitude for process improvement and automation. 

  • At least 6-8 years of relevant accounting experience preferably within a multinational company/ multi-currency environment. 

  • Start-up experience and understanding of the travel/ IT industry is desirable.

  • Knowledge of accounting and external reporting standards, especially HGB and IFRS.

  • Experience with DATEV or Workday ERP systems advantageous but not essential.

  • Strong Excel skills is highly desirable.

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written), German is a plus.
