Location: Flexible (Manila) – This role requires proximity to an office location with the flexibility to work from home.
The Role
GoPro is seeking a top tier candidate that will support indirect tax (VAT/GST) worldwide and wants to be challenged on a daily basis. This person will have day to day responsibility for indirect taxes including compliance, business process and audits. This role will be a key member of the team in the development and execution of new initiatives, process improvement and technical compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience with indirect taxes and excellent system skills, and hands-on experience with indirect tax systems and worldclass ERP systems.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate and work with team members on indirect tax compliance, in 35+ jurisdictions
- Manage tax rates and tax classification documentation
- Monitor current tax rules and legislative changes
- Collaborate with tax team members on various projects
- Prepare and review monthly tax accruals, journal entries and related supporting documentation
- Research tax regulations and tax rules to support projects and initiatives
- Review current processes and work collaboratively within the Company on process improvements
- Prepares/reviews data and information analysis leading to business decisions or recommendations. May include informal presentations.
- Provide tax guidance and rules to support and collaborate with internal stakeholders such as IT, Customer service, Accounting, and Supply Chain/logistics
Skills We’re Excited About
- 5-10+ years U.S. income tax experience, accounting firm (Big 4 preferred), government or multi-national industry experience is a plus
- Strong indirect taxes skills (sales/use tax, VAT, GST, etc.)
- Ability to self manage, communicate and work with team members who are remote and/or in other locations
- Ability and willingness to roll up your sleeves, manage projects, and establish process
- Ability to collaborate, lead and build effective teams cross functionally
- Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Accounting
- Strong data analysis skills, ability to work with large amounts of data, and expertise with Microsoft Excel
- Experience and working knowledge of indirect taxes and sales tax automation systems such as Avalara, Vertex, Sabrix, etc.
- Experience and working knowledge of Netsuite, Zuora and Word
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
