The Supplier Quality Engineer performs quality assurance activities of purchased items within project phase with the objective of monitoring and guiding suppliers to define and establish processes that can deliver parts according to the agreed specifications on a consistent basis. This position will report to the Supplier Quality Manager.

About this roll* (Responsibilities) 

  • The successful candidate will work with the module integration suppliers, sub-component vendors and the system integration sites
  • Responsible for interfacing with suppliers and performing root cause analysis
  • Identify and recommend solutions to improve the supplier qualification and management process and system.
  • Validate effectiveness of SCAR root causes through on-site visits to suppliers.
  • Work with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities.
  • Respond with a high sense of urgency to quality issues and intensify / communicate appropriately.
  • Knowledge in best practice tools and processes SPC, MSA, PPAP, 8D etc
  • Work with NPI teams and Engineering to ensure release of robust specifications identified on drawings. Define supplier qualification requirements based on part criticality and complexity following PPAP methodology

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing and Quality Control
  • Experience developing process quality plans, supplier quality audits, and driving corrective actions and failure analysis efforts
  • Working knowledge of mechanical or electrical quality and reliability concepts, supplier management, and general manufacturing operations
  • Lean six sigma Black Belt certified is a plus 
  • Understand ISO 9000, A certified auditor is a plus
  • Experience with the development and evaluation of measurement systems
  • Deep understanding and hands on experience of factory manufacturing process control and quality systems
  • Self-motivated, good communicator and ability to lead
  • MS/BS in Electrical engineering or Mechanical engineering / Industry Engineer 
  • Bilingual(Chinese/English) is a plus
