The Tax Specialist I will ensure timely communication and resolution of all payroll tax related matters. This role will be responsible for maintaining up to date client tax profiles to ensure a smooth client experience. A successful candidate will have great communication and critical thinking skills.
About this roll* (Responsibilities)
- Thoroughly research and assist clients with resolving payroll tax notices
- Correspond with tax agencies regarding inquiries, penalty waivers and tax clearances
- Knowledge of payroll taxes including federal, state, local and paid family leave
- Obtain accurate tax jurisdiction account information to ensure timely filing and payment of payroll tax obligations
- Maintain individual performance to meet established team goals and OKRs
- Perform routine payroll tax profile audits of existing clients to ensure accuracy
- Assists in monthly, quarterly and annual tax filings
- Processes and submits basic amended returns on behalf of clients
- Collaborate with clients to complete Third-Party Agent (TPA) setup
- Participate in special projects and/or other duties assigned

- Prior experience in a customer service and/or payroll service bureau role
