We are searching for a passionate Senior Software Engineer who will join one of our key teams, the UI Platform.
The Team:
In the UI Platform team, we connect all other teams within the company when it comes to frontend development for Web (React) and Mobile (Native + React Native).
Our mission is to deliver top-level quality applications to our customers by empowering teams with development tools, reliable delivery pipelines, and clean and comprehensive architecture design. Specifically, we oversee:
- Defining and developing the key components of the applications, establishing and maintaining the codebase organization of the Web and Mobile applications.
- Providing developer tools and CI/CD infrastructure for our frontend monorepo, which has 30+ active monthly contributors from 12 different teams.
- Managing the Release Cycle of our Web and Mobile (iOS and Android) applications: overseeing processes from PR checks to store submission and production metrics.
One of the main challenges our team is currently tackling is transitioning our existing mobile application (Native + React Native) to the Expo platform.
What will you do:
- Collaborate with other teams in the company to continuously improve Omio's App user experience.
- Contribute to the development of new policies and processes, translating them into technologies.
- Lead migration of a hybrid (Native + RN) mobile app to Expo.
- Debug complex issues and create tools for bug detection and prevention.
- Establish and improve application performance metrics.
- Be actively involved in significant codebase changes and migrations.
- Independently focus on continuous learning, improvement, and drive the evolution of our engineering practices.
- 5+ years of experience in building applications with JavaScript with current and strong experience with React Native (bare and Expo).
- A solid grasp of a wide spectrum of software engineering domains, including but not limited to networking protocols, CLI, operating systems, and associated technical fields.
- Strict quality standards. You believe in changing things to match those standards, rather than compromising on the standards.
Optional, but big plus:
- Experience working in a similar team or similar responsibilities.
- Experience building a React Native app from scratch: from the initial lines of code to troubleshooting and resolving user issues.
- Experience shipping Open Source products for the JavaScript community.
- Experience setting up application performance metrics.
- Experience establishing a frontend monorepo and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with the following technologies:
- Expo Config plugins.
- the new RN architecture, Turbo Modules
- Grafana, Kibana.
- Wdio, Appium, and Saucelabs.
- Code Push.
- TypeScript, GraphQL, Storybook, Jest, Vitest, PlayWright.
- Docker/Kubernetes.
