We have been the earliest investor with dozens of teams that have dared to pursue their vision—creating and leading new markets, and shaping the future.
Meet the companies that inspire us every day.
A kite boarder and scuba diver with a master’s degree in electrical engineering, Eyal Waldman co-founded Galileo Technology with Avigdor Willenz after designing microprocessors at Intel for four years. Galileo was acquired by Marvell. Equipped with significant expertise in high peformance switching and microprocessor design, Eyal, Roni, and their friends Shai Cohen and Michael Kagen shifted their attention to solving the performance bottleneck that had been created in embedded systems by the “PCI express bus”. Mellanox raised their series A in 1999 from Chris Rust and Irwin Federman, and quickly established operations in Yokneam, Israel and Sunnyvale, California. The company weathered the 01/02 downturn, stayed true to their mission of delivering the highest performance solutions over many product generations, and went public in 2007. The Mellanox founding team has since grown the company into a global leader of high performance networking solutions.
