As a Series A startup with exceptional early traction, we serve thousands of revenue-generating clients. A key part of our growth strategy is acquiring small tax and accounting firms and integrating their clients and personnel into our innovative service model.

We are seeking a Head of Acquisitions to lead this expansion, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer. If you have a track record of executing small acquisitions, building trusted relationships, and driving seamless integrations, we want you on our team.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Drive Growth Through Acquisitions – Scale Cynch.ai’s reach by expanding our client base and operational capacity through building a scalable acquisition engine.  
  • Define & Execute Acquisition Strategy – Develop and refine our acquisition strategy to identify, engage, and acquire accounting firms that align with Cynch.ai’s defined fit criteria.
  • Establish Key Metrics & Acquisition Fit Criteria – Set financial and operational benchmarks to assess acquisition target and success metrics.
  • Identify & Engage Prospective Sellers – Proactively source and build relationships with accounting firm owners, positioning Cynch.ai as an ideal acquisition partner.
  • Lead Deal Execution – Oversee the full acquisition lifecycle, from initial outreach to closing, including negotiations and deal structuring in collaboration with legal and finance teams.
  • Manage Integration – Ensure acquired firms and their personnel are seamlessly integrated into Cynch.ai’s systems, operations, and culture in an innovative, thoughtful way.
  • Assess Success Against Targets and Adjust – Each acquired firm should be assessed post-acquisition on the success metrics to help better refine the acquisition process.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven Financial Analysis Expertise – Strong ability to evaluate businesses based on financials, customer data, and operational synergies
  • Operational Builder.  Ability to define, operate and refine a scalable process for repeatable acquisitions, including measurable success metrics.
  • Relationship-Driven Leader – High EQ, excellent interpersonal skills, and a natural ability to build trust and rapport with prospective sellers.
  • Strategic Negotiator – Skilled in structuring deals, navigating negotiations, and working cross-functionally with legal, finance, and operations teams.
  • Seamless Integrator – Experience designing and executing post-acquisition integration processes that maximize value while retaining key clients and personnel.
  • Education & Background – BA/BS required; MBA preferred. Tax or accounting industry experience is a plus.
