Additionally, Kognitos's conversational exception handling, powered by Generative AI, allows for quick and easy resolution of unexpected system errors or business exceptions.

 

What You’ll Do

As a Linguistics Intern at Kognitos, you will play a key role in refining how our AI interprets, understands, and generates language. Your contributions will help improve the usability and accuracy of our NLP systems. Specifically, you will:

  • Conduct research to enhance our language models, focusing on syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and discourse analysis.

  • Collaborate with engineers to design and build high-quality datasets for NLP training.

  • Identify ambiguities or edge cases in user input and propose solutions for improved language interpretation.

  • Test and fine-tune automated workflows to improve precision.

  • Stay current with research trends in computational linguistics to integrate cutting-edge techniques.

What We're Looking For

  • Education:

    • Pursuing or holding a PhD in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Cognitive Science, or a related field.

  • Skills & Expertise:

    • Deep knowledge of syntax, semantics, and discourse analysis.

    • Familiarity with NLP models and technologies (e.g., NER, dependency parsing, tokenization).

    • Analytical thinker with attention to linguistic nuances.

    • Experience with corpus analysis, annotation, or data-driven research.

    • Basic programming skills (Python preferred, but not required).

    • Excellent communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration.

  • Bonus Points:

    • Prior experience working with NLP tools or language datasets.

    • Interest in real-world applications of language technologies in automation.

    • Knowledge of AI frameworks and automation solutions.
