The Production Team at LILT

LILT’s production team focuses on onboarding and localized content delivery for enterprise and mid-market customers, who use our AI technology for their multilingual content requirements.  Our team engages with customers from post-sales through steady-state production and is made up of experts in various functional and technical areas of LILT’s overall offering.  While we work in various locations, we are highly collaborative within the team and have tight interactions with our colleagues in the LILT Sales, Product, Engineering, and Operations teams.  Additionally, we operate as critical members of account-based teams that ensure LILT’s technology is utilized to deliver maximum value to our customers.  While we’re at it, we have fun and enjoy the ride together.

 

Where You’ll Work

This is a contract position based out of India or Romania. 

Authorization to work in India or Romania is a precondition of employment.

 

What You’ll Do

We're looking for an experienced multimedia specialist with a localization background who loves solving hard problems, ensuring work is done on time to keep the customer experience seamless, and interacting with a variety of stakeholders. This position is for someone who has strong technical aptitude, extensive customer-facing experience, and the ability to manage competing priorities from multiple customers at once.

You will be responsible for scoping and processing multimedia content within our platform and partner platforms (e.g. CaptionHub, Articulate), ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.  

You will work hand-in-hand with Sales, Production, Operations, and Engineering. You will be responsible for providing the technical expertise to make LILT customers successful.  

You will have a broad range of skills and experience ranging from global multimedia content management lifecycle, a working knowledge of video and audio processing with respect to content pipelines and integrations. You will have the insight to make the connection between a customer’s specific business problems and LILT's solution, the customer-facing skills to communicate that connection and vision to a wide variety of technical and executive audiences, and the technical skills to be able to not only build demos and execute proof-of-concepts but also to provide consultative assistance on architecture and implementation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and expertise to internal and external stakeholders during the pre-sales cycle 

  • Design and execute proof of concepts

  • Support new customer onboarding and implementation 

  • Conduct post-sales project scoping for multimedia solutions based on customer requirements in multiple languages

  • Manage video, audio, animation and image localization per project specifications

  • Provide best practices and guidance to customers

  • Advise on automation opportunities within the workflow both internally and externally with customers

  • Identify competitive advantages of the company's offerings in the broadcast media solutions market 

  • Assess the company's capabilities to meet complex customer requirements and identify potential gaps

  • Efficiently manage LILT existing platforms for both AI and human multimedia localization

  • Review processed videos for quality, accuracy, and adherence to platform standards

  • Generate files for delivery and perform final-eye assessments before delivery

  • Collaborate with production teams to implement technology-enabled workflows

  • Collaborate with colleagues across the company as the point-of-contact for all questions multimedia

  • Meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for customer engineering tasks

Skills and Experience:

  • At least 5+ years of experience in a role focused on multimedia localization 

  • Deep expertise in video subtitling for web, platform, and television broadcasting

  • Expertise in live event streaming and captioning in multiple languages 

  • Expertise in both AI and human voiceover, dubbing, audio integration, and synchronization

  • File management: Proficiency in organizing and managing large video, audio, and subtitle files

  • Understanding of video editing hardware (computers, storage, monitors, etc.)

  • Networking: Knowledge of network protocols and file transfer methods (FTP, SFTP)

  • Knowledge of common file formats (JSON, XML, HTML, CSV, PO, YAML, STRINGS, RESX, PROPERTIES) including syntax and escaping

  • Exposure to translation tools (TMX editors, alignment software, diffing software, OCR software)

  • Understanding of encoding standards and character sets

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Problem-solving skills and ability to analyze issues

Our founders, Spence and John met at Google working on Google Translate.  As researchers at Stanford and Berkeley, they both worked on language technology to make information accessible to everyone. They were amazed to learn that Google Translate wasn’t used for enterprise products and services inside the company and left to start a new company to address this need – LILT. 

At its core, LILT has always been a machine learning company since its incorporation on March 6, 2015. At the time, machine translation didn’t meet the quality standard for enterprise translations, so LILT assembled a cutting-edge research team tasked with closing that gap. While meeting customer demand for translation services, LILT has prioritized investments in Large Language Models, believing that this foundation was imperative to the future of enterprise translation.
