Khalig is a core investment team member who leads new founder sourcing, deal origination, and due diligence exercises. He also leads the Clear Portfolio Services function, working closely with Clear Portfolio leadership to help with all operational performance and efficiency aspects. Khalig succeeds by using proprietary tools developed in-house by the Clear engineering team to drive increased access to talent, customers, and follow-on financing.
Khalig is also responsible for all ecosystem and marketing initiatives, including operating the Clear Venture Fellows (Ph.D. and Postdocs), Clear MBA internship, and Clear CxO Council programs.
He has prior experience working in Venture Capital from his time at Ignite XL Ventures, a global seed fund. Khalig was also a member of the UK government’s Foreign Direct Investment team, facilitating investment relationships between the country and US-based FTN 500 technology companies. He has a background both working with and for startups and is incredibly passionate about the entrepreneurial journey.
Khalig is a member of numerous technology and diversity advocacy groups in the Bay Area, including Black in AI, TechStars San Francisco, and BLCK VC.
In his free time, Khalig coaches youth lacrosse in San Francisco and competes in squash, lacrosse, and tennis. Khalig enjoys biking and hiking and the Bay Area’s natural beauty.
