About the role:
Test and characterize optical devices using Opto-Mechanical setups:
- Set up and maintain optical alignment stations
- Perform measurements on micro-optical devices using micro-manipulation stages
- Assemble small optical components such as micro-lenses using epoxy
- Collect data from arrays of optical components and subsystems including LEDs, photodetectors
- Collect data using various optical and electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, optical power meters, power supplies. Specialized optical measurement tools.
- Process data according to instructions. Document Procedures, results and perform calibrations
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to resolve technical problems.
Qualifications:
- Technical school or Associate’s Degree in related field. Optical, Engineering, Physics
- Computer literacy (Processing data and analysis)
- Experience as an Optical Technician or related role
- Experience with optical fibers and alignment.
- Prefer wire-bonding skills
- Micro-fabrication experience
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal/communication skills within the company and with partners, customers, and consultants.
