Tignis

Tignis is on a mission to become the dominant provider of physics-driven AI process control for high-value industrial systems. Their founder/CEO is Jon Herlocker, formerly CTO of multi-billion dollar business unit at VMware, and investors include Paul Maritz, the former CEO of VMware, and Harel Kodesh, the former CTO of GE Digital. They have developed groundbreaking technology that takes high fidelity simulations (models based on partial differential equations) and generates machine learning surrogate models that are six orders of magnitude faster. This enables never-before-possible digital twin use cases such as real-time simulation control of industrial processes. They have also designed and built a novel analytics and automation language for process reliability and control. Tignis’ technology has been selected by Tokyo Electron to be the controller for a new class of manufacturing tool targeting 3D semiconductor manufacturing, they are being deployed for controlling distillation columns in a crude oil refinery, and has been deployed in hundreds of chiller plants worldwide. Tignis AI-PC (AI Process Control) can save high-value manufacturing plants millions of dollars per year through process optimization.
