It is impossible to ignore the major impact AWS has had on all companies in the 11 years since Amazon released what initially was referred to almost as a footnote in Amazon’s internal infrastructure plans.
AWS grew beyond simple storage and elastic compute to offer managed services such as RDS (Relational Database Service) and EMR (Elastic MapReduce) aimed at simplifying the deployment and management of databases – the most complex part of legacy as well as modern software stacks.
